Unwanted Pizza Talk
Filed Under Food And Drink | Comments Off
I don’t particularly mind ordering pizzas. In fact, sometimes I enjoy it. It’s not the actual call that fascinates me, of course, but more so it’s the knowledge that the call will soon turn itself into actual food. It is this transformation (phone call into food) that makes our country what it is today, and could also be responsible for the popularity in replacing the letter ‘f’ in words with ‘ph,’ such as in the sentence, “This is so phat, man.” And, of course, in that particular example, the fatness — or phatness — may be a result of the pizza…
Nevertheless, my reason for this topic has nothing to do with any of this. Rather, I wanted to discuss the conversation I had the other day with the person on the other end of the pizza delivery process. Upon asking if they offered chicken as a topping, she replied, “I don’t know, I think so.” I have a problem with that, because what would happen if they didn’t have chicken? Would she just wing it and choose something that I might like equally as much? I don’t think she’d be able to figure that out considering one minute on the phone isn’t really enough time to get to know me. It also bothers me that the person at the pizza place wouldn’t know the available toppings, because when it comes down to it: it’s a pizza place. What more do you need to know besides the toppings? It’s like calling an ice cream parlor and asking if they have cones…
But it gets better from here. After I asked for wings, she asked me if I wanted the fresh kind or the frozen ones. I can understand why she would ask me for my preference, but perhaps she could have reworded it into what she actually meant: “Are you a normal person or a total idiot?”
Seriously, I would like to be asked the question above, only because most food service employees often don’t have the opportunity to express themselves openly. After this ice breaker, we could talk about life, philosophy and maybe even chicken. For example, I would mention that if peppers could order pizza, they would order pepperoni, but if meat could order pizzas, they probably would not order themselves in the ball form. We could talk about anchovies and whether they are salty because of their assault. And we would then cross the road and ponder what it meant to do so. This would be particularly fascinating if she was still supposed to be at work, because then who’d be answering the phones? (Answer: a machine.) And through it all, I would still wonder what topping I was going to get on my pizza…
Probably not what I ordered…
But I digress.

Dirt Cheap Airline Tickets – Ways To Find Them
Filed Under Travel And Leisure | Comments Off
These days, it seems as though it’s common knowledge that if you need to fly somewhere it is going to cost you way more than you are willing to spend. A round-trip airline ticket can cost you hundreds of dollars and that’s only for one person! Taking a family vacation can be a financial nightmare if you don’t know exactly how to find the best deals. Below is a quick guide to finding dirt cheap airline tickets.
1. Buy Way in Advance
You can count on ticket prices climbing around peak traveling periods such as Christmas. Airlines usually hike up the prices 21 days, then 14, then 7 and finally, 3 days before each flight. Grabbing a ticket early enough allows you to steer clear of price inflation. If you are planning on flying internationally you will need to book your flight even earlier, up to six months earlier.
2. Last Minute Deals
It’s always good to purchase tickets in advance but if you are lucky you may be able to snag a great last minute deal if the airline still has a lot of room left on their planes. Some airlines put out weekly newsletters which contain all their best last minute deals. Web sites like Last Minute Travel can also help you find all the latest last minute airline deals.
3. Do Your Homework
Shop around for the best deals possible; don’t just go with the first fare that comes up. Compare prices using one of the major online traveling services such as Travelocity or Expedia. Also try aggregator web sites such as Kayak. Using these services can help you find the best rate possible for your particular trip. While you’re there you can check around to see if any airlines are running specials or promotions that you may be interested in.
4. Knowing When to Buy
It can be easy to track the rising and falling prices of airline fares but actually knowing when to buy is tricky. A great resource for those flying in the United States is Farecast, which provides fare predictions for over 75 cities. All you have to do is enter your itinerary information and Farecast will tell you whether to buy now or wait it out, depending on which way the fare is predicted to rise or fall.
Another important way to know when to buy is by keeping in mind that many airlines put out fare sales each week on Tuesday and Wednesday. So if you can book on those days you have a better chance of snagging a good deal.
5. Go with Discounters
They may not be as popular or even an airline you have heard for that matter, but the truth is that you can save yourself a ton of money by ditching the major airlines and opting for a discounter. These airlines are a little harder to find but they are gaining more popularity on booking web sites and feed aggregators.
It’s easy to find dirt cheap airline tickets if you know where to look and when to book. Keeping these tips in mind each time you fly can save you a bundle.

Getting Cheap Airline Tickets to Trinidad is Easier Now
Filed Under Travel And Leisure | Comments Off
Cheap airline tickets to Trinidad can be easy to find if you are a patient looker and a lenient traveler. If you are looking for a not so crowded, secluded but picturesque vacation island in the Caribbean, you can try the southernmost of the island which is Trinidad.
Trinidad is part of the island tandem Trinidad and Tobago. Trinidad is relatively young in terms of self-governance. But already has a population of 1,305,000 together with the smaller island Tobago. Trinidad lies a few miles off the northeastern coast of Venezuela. Trinidad is known for its water tourist attractions which include snorkeling, scuba diving and its swimming pools. There are crash courses for these activities, and there is also time allowance for the actual activities.
When travelling, you can find cheapest fares to Trinidad landing at the Piarco International Airport or commonly known as Port of Spain or POS. If the destination is in Tobago, they have the Crown International Airport. Both operate 7 days a week but Crown International Airport is only open from 5 am up to 12 midnight.
Assuming you will be coming from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), cheap airline tickets to Trinidad are around 215 $ excluding taxes. This is usually on non peak days like Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. During Fridays, there is a slightly higher rate, you can get fares for around 224 $, but Saturdays and Sundays offer the highest airfare rates. This is on an adult with one-way travel. You may also want to choose overnight travels for lower fees. Flights that are around 300 $ sometimes offer the best combination of shorter travel time, lesser number of stopovers and time of flights. Afternoon flights tend to charge higher. There are flights that can go over 500 $ depending on the airlines on any day, so choose well.
Certain number of stopovers can also affect the price of the tickets, although this is not a permanent trend. But, the usual inclination is that more number of stopovers means lower price. Usual stopovers from US are to other US state, then directly to the Port of Spain. One up to three stopovers are common within the flights to Trinidad.
The cheapest air tickets can also be obtained by booking flights that require change of airports and slightly longer travel time. Although, not all cheap flights have long duration of travel. The travel time can range from 10 hours up to 28 hours. Just make sure that you bring a guide and that you have enough layover time if you choose to take flights requiring change of airports. You may also want to bring a book or some thing to pass the layover time.
Cheapest airline tickets to Trinidad could also be booked online. Online booking should be easy enough if you check on which one fits you. Being patient in looking for these tickets and using flight comparison sites will help a lot. When you are a lenient traveler, finding economized tickets will not be such a problem. Just make sure you bring some water and food to get you by the flight, remember that cheaper airfare means no-frills flight, better be ready.

Free Airline Tickets
Filed Under Travel And Leisure | Comments Off
Some people are fortunate enough to get free airline tickets to use for travel. It’s not easy to get these free tickets. They are mostly given out during promotions. For example an airline has revamped its fleet and wants to attract fliers, they will give out tickets. These tickets may be valid only between certain destinations, so they may be restricting in that sense.
Sometimes a ticket can be given as a way of apologizing for a cancellation on a previous flight. Sometimes the travel agent may be acting as an airline agent and might be given some tickets give out as a means of advertising and attracting potential customers. For example if an airline is introducing a new route, or a new fleet of aircraft.
Sometimes someone could get free airline tickets by winning a raffle or something of the sort. The problem with these free tickets is that they have many drawbacks and limitations when it comes to utilizing them. For example, they might only be valid for a certain number of months, they could be non transferable or might be one way and you have to organize your way back. They could also be to a destination that you have no interest in.
Anything that’s free is always very attractive, and unless you are flexible and don’t mind the restrictions that come with the tickets, you are good to go. And again, as with anything that is this attractive, make sure you always read the fine print. Ask any questions you might have for the person who is giving you this free airline tickets.
