Hi, I am traveling with my 65-year old mother [I am 27] and I think she likes the convenience of an escorted tour, I wouldn’t mind being more independent, is there an escorted tour people could recommend, as well as the best ways to go about planning a trip as complex as this? I am looking into a package that already has the hotels, airfare, and rail tickets included, so its just the actual day trips I would need to plan.

   Try this one, They provide escorted tours with hotels and transportation included. They also have tours for several countries around Europe. I hope that helps.

   English is spoken everywhere in Europe now. I noticed on my last trip there that Asians, eastern Europeans, and everyone else will automatically speak English when they are in need of something, etc….

   This gives you lots of independence. When I go, I book my hotels and transportation only. Then when you get to your destination, you can look into “day tours.” Lots of them are great. Book them after you’ve had a chance to look at the material phamplets. That way you get a taste of what’s in store for you. You will have a bigger variety to choose from if you wait until you get to your destination. They always have info on them at your hotel, and they also speak English on these tours.

   So relax, and enjoy your trip, no matter what you decide to do!
